Early things to remember to stop those wrinkles happening in the first place.

We all get wrinkles in life as we age. There are certain things that we do with our skin and habits that can sometimes encourage the wrinkles to come earlier than we would have hoped. The main trick is to not stretch the skin and it won’t be able to sag! You are a porcelain painting! Touch the skin on your face like it is a porcelain painting. Be gentle with it! Be kind to your face!

Protect our skin while we can

Protect our skin while we can

The main activity that I notice on women that get wrinkles early is that they put their hand up to their face and lean their hand only their face slowly stretching the skin on their cheek upwards. This is a perfectly natural move and position that we sit in when we are reading a magazine at a table.

Stop and look at where your hand is on your face and you will notice that you are stretching the skin on your cheek upwards. Don’t! Leave your face along. Correct your posture and create the habit of not touching your face. The skin stretches which creates excess skin on your cheek, combined with gravity and age it has nowhere else to go but become wrinkles on your face.

The next activity I notice women doing that creates wrinkles on their face is the method that they apply moisturizers, creams and make-up on their skin. They rub their face and skin that hard and it stretches everywhere and all over the place.

Be careful when applying any cream to your face. Remember that your face is a porcelain painting and you rub the cream over your face gently without stretching the skin.

The next activity is face exercises in order to stretch your skin. If you feel that you need to do them for the phsycological benefit then go ahead. I recommend that you NOT do them. Again it stretches the skin, combined with gravity, you will get wrinkles.

I find that the natural lines on your face from every day activity are the nicest lines to have and it makes your face look expressive and natural.

The last thing I notice is that there is not a lot we can do about the thickness of our skin. If you have thin skin, which you can find by carefully pinching the skin on your cheek, then you will be more likely to get wrinkles at an earlier age.

If you have thick skin then the skin is not able to physically wrinkle so easily. While you will not get wrinkles as early as everyone else, your skin will have a sagging effect instead of so many wrinkles. I have thicker skin and so am speaking from experience here.

Wrinkles are a natural part of life and aging. Steam cleaning your face regularly helps with the blood circulation to the surface skin cells and can also reduce the aging look of your skin. Take care of yourself and remember that your face is a porcelain painting and you need to not stretch it or touch it and apply creams and make-up gently to your skin.
